NYSTEA Scholarship Fund for Future Technology Education Teachers.

In response to the great and growing shortage of technology education teachers, the New York State Technology Education Association (NYSTEA) has established a scholarship fund.

Scholarships are being offered to graduating high school seniors who are are entering a four year college and planning to become Technology Education teachers. Any eligible student who is graduating high school this June may apply for the award. Deadline for the application is May 1st.

The New York State Technology Education Association is committed to increasing the number of instructors necessary to maintain the high quality programs expected in New York State. With the establishment of this scholarship NYSTEA hopes to focus attention on the critical shortage of technology education teachers. By offering some financial incentive, we hope to encourage qualified college bound students to choose a rewarding and exciting teaching career in the field of Technology Education

Please let everyone in your school district know about this scholarship opportunity! Pass this on to other Technology Education teachers as well as your guidance offices.

We need your support

Don’t forget to be generous! You can contribute to the future of Technology Education by making a donation to the NYSTEA Scholarship Fund for future Technology Education teachers.

  • NYSTEA has already awarded 15 - $500 scholarships to future Technology Education teachers.

  • This award has been in existence for seven years.

  • Your donations will make future scholarship awards possible.

We are hoping to continue the awards for as long as we can. Since there is no endowment it is only you, the NYSTEA member that stands between NYSTEA having this scholarship or not having a scholarship at all. If you believe in the future of Technology Education and want to ensure it’s existence, then the logical thing for you to do would be to reach into your pocket and help fund the Future Technology Education Teacher Scholarship.

No donation is too large or too small. Make it a yearly habit (it’s one of those good habits)! You can even make a donation to the fund by checking off the donation box when you complete the membership application to join NYSTEA.

Please send all donations to:

Mr. Curtis Helt, NYSTEA Treasurer
140 Quaker Hill Road
Monroe, NY 10950

Please make checks payable to the: NYSTEA Scholarship Fund
