Welcome Back

Dear NYSTEA Members,

I hope all of you had an enjoyable summer and that the start of the school year went smoothly. By now most of your Regional Associations have had or are planning to have their Steak Bake to kick off the new year. I know my Regional will be having theirs on October 16th and I am very much looking forward to it.

A number of key initiatives are taking off this year for you and NYSTEA. We now have a new web-site (www.nystea.com). There are new postings provided on a regular basis. On the heels of our Summit with SED, there has been the initiative to develop on-line courses through the On-Line Academy and NYIT. Very soon you will be able to join or renew your membership on line with PayPal. The scholarship form is already on line and contributions can be made to its fund through PayPal. 

NYSTEA’s Annual Conference will be located in Lake George at Fort William Henry Resort. The dates for this year’s conference will be April 22-24, 2009. The Representative Assembly will be held on the evening of April 22nd with a great array of presentations slated for April 23 & 24. Shortly, all of the conference information will be posted on our web-site. Please set the dates aside and plan on being there. It will be an opportunity to renew old friendships, make new ones and participate in some professional development.
