Recent Advisory Council Recommendations

Hold a Summit Meeting, in the Spring of 2008, with NYS Education Department and NYSTEA

Organize and hold an Albany based Legislative Summit Meeting in 2009

Identify a committee (2009) that will define STEM Education for New York State

Involve Elementary Teachers along with Middle and High School.

Glossary for NYS Technology Education Should contain 100 or fewer key definitions

Newly developed lesson plans for www.nystea.com or SED's VLS should reflect MST-ELA integration

Association needs to agree on "how we integrate STEM' or it won't influence anything.

Need for a Strategic Plan to incorporate critical literacies and how to sustain the discipline. Use for approach to school boards and data support.

NYSTEA needs to present to school boards, math and science conferences.
